Huawei Honor 7 with 20-Megapixel Camera and Octa-Core SoC Launched

Huawei has launched its flagship metal-clad Honor 7 smartphone in China in three storage variants. It is priced at CNY 1999 (about 322 USD) for the 16GB variant, CNY 2199 (about / $354) for the 16GB dual-SIM variant, and CNY 2499 (about $403) for the 64GB storage variant model. There is no word about its availability outside China.

The Huawei Honor 7 runs Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system with company’s Emotion UI 3.1 on the top. It features an aluminium alloy design and sports a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixel) In-cell technology display with a pixel density of 423ppi. It boast the company’s own 64-bit octa-core Kirin 935 processor (four Cortex-A53 cores at 2.2GHz + four Cortex-A53 at 1.5GHz) along with 3GB of RAM and coupled with ARM’s Mali-T628 GPU.

The Honor 7 smartphone is equipped with 16GB / 64GB internal storage and also comes with a microSD card slot, with is expandable with up to 128GB of microSD card. It is shipped with 20-megapixel rear camera that features phase detection autofocus which the company claims can deliver autofocus speeds of 0.1 seconds. The rear camera also features a Sony IMX230 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 6-lens module, and sapphire glass protection on the top. There is also an 8-megapixel front-facing wide-angle fixed focus camera with a f/2.4 aperture is on board. The handset also comes with a fingerprint sensor right below the rear camera that enables users to unlock the smartphone by just tapping once.

Connectivity options NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, and 4G LTE are available in Huawei Honor 7. The handset measures 143.2×71.9×8.5mm and weighing 157 grams, which is backed by a 3100mAh battery with a quick charging technology that charges the smartphone from zero to full within 1 hour 25 minutes, and zero to 50 percent in 30 minutes.
